Marieta "Marty" Krejci Tobey passed peacefully on April 30th, surrounded by loved ones. Marty grew up in Michigan and later moved to Rye, NY with her husband James William Tobey to raise their five children. In 2000, they settled into Wake Robin in Shelburne, VT, a natural next move having spent many summers on Lake Champlain with her family. Her avid love for nature, literature, music, and learning gave her joy and enriched those fortunate enough to learn from her. She was a master at Scrabble, could bake unbeatable double blueberry pie and sherry cake, and you'd be hard pressed to find someone more adept on a ping pong table. Marty was passionate about her work as Acting Director of Mercy College Library, expertise she later drew on to help build the Wake Robin library. And through it all, she managed to lead with poise, subtlety, grace, and a dry wit. Marty was predeceased by her husband and her son James Richard. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Even with all of her accomplishments, her greatest pride and gift to the world was the family she built. There will be a Circle of Remembrance at Wake Robin on Saturday, May 4th at 3 pm. Donations may be made in her memory to Cranbrook School in Michigan, which was a major influence in her childhood and youth; and Audubon Vermont to honor her love of nature. Out-of-TWn Wedding AT AN INFORMAL ceremony solemnized on Friday afternoon at 5 o'clock in Christ Church, Waukegan, 111., Marieta Krejci, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Krejci, of Bloomfield Hills, became the bride of Ensign James William Tobey, son of LL Col. and Mrs. James A. Tobey, of Rye, N. Y. Marieta, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a blue gabardine su't for the occasion, a small black velvet hat and a corsage of white orchids. Madeline McMath, of Lake Angelus, was the bride's only attendant, her simple afternoon frock of navy blue silk accented by a corsage of purple orchids. Ensign John Beardsly, of St. Louis, who has been stationed in Waukegan with the bridegroom, was best man. Mrs. Krejci wore-a brown and tan ensemble and green orchids for her daughter's wedding, while Mrs. Tobey chose an all-blue outfit. Her flowers were purple orchids. Following a small reception given at the Karcher Hotel, the bridal couple left for Washington where they'll be stationed temporarily.

James W. Tobey Commissioned Ensign in U. S. Naval Reserve James W. Tobey, son of Colonel and Mrs. James A. Tobey of 840 Forest Avenue, has been commissioned as ensign in the U. S. Naval Reserve. Upon completion of a special Navy course at the Harvard Graduate School of Business he will be ordered to active duty. Mr. Tobey graduated from Amherst College last June, and from the Rye High School in 1937.
